How Does Our Vpsa Oxygen Generator Work?



A VPSA (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen generator works by using adsorption to separate oxygen from air. Air is drawn into the system, and under vacuum conditions, it passes through adsorbent materials that capture nitrogen and other gases, leaving almost pure oxygen as the product. This process alternates between two adsorption beds, with one releasing trapped gases while the other adsorbs them. This cyclic process ensures a continuous supply of high-purity oxygen.

How Does VPSA Oxygen Plant Work?

VPSA (vacuum pressure swing adsorption) systems utilize low-pressure adsorption and vacuum desorption to effectively separate nitrogen and oxygen from ambient air. The process involves adsorbing nitrogen molecules under reduced pressure and then desorbing them under vacuum conditions, allowing the exhausted nitrogen to exit the system. At the same time, the purified oxygen is directed to the refining stage. The molecular sieve continuously undergoes a cycle of adsorption and pressure reduction, ultimately producing higher purity oxygen (usually around 90-95%).

The blower's role is to transport low-pressure air, ensuring it is purified and free of dust.



The dust-free air is then directed into adsorption tower VPSA-02, entering from the tower's bottom.



Inside the tower, the adsorbent (usually molecular sieve) captures nitrogen, water, carbon dioxide, and hydrocarbons from the incoming air.



The system initiates a desorption process, starting with atmospheric pressure desorption, followed by the use of a vacuum pump to create a specific level of vacuum. This vacuum enables the complete regeneration of the adsorption tower by desorbing the previously captured gases.



The purified oxygen is directed from the top of the tower into the oxygen buffer tank, where it is stored as a backup supply.



The PLC control system governs the entire process. When the adsorption inside the tower reaches a predetermined saturation level, the programmed control valve switches, facilitating continuous oxygen production.
